Cloth Diapering

After doing lots and lots of research online I decided I wanted to cloth diaper my baby. She is now 3 months old and I think I'm finally ready to start using our cloth diapers. I have been using the disposable diapers I got from my baby shower for her and from when I was pregnant with Brinley so I had lots of disposables to go through.

I have slowly been collecting diapers for a few months now. I have pocket diapers, hybrid diapers, and some AIO (All in ones). There are many new terms when you decide to learn about cd (cloth diapers). Learning the lingo takes time. It is also hard to pick the diaper you want to use without actually being able to see them and test them out.

Luckily I have found some really good deals while shopping around. For example I picked up two packs of 5 brand new Kushies AIOs for $2 a pack at a yard sale. These retail for $50 a pack!!  I have come across some buy one get one free offers on Flips hybrid diaper system that is still going on. I also was able to snag some EUC (Excellent Used Condition) pocket diapers for cheap.

So far my favorites are the GroVias which are a hybrid diaper meaning that the absorbant layer is laid inside the diaper shell instead of stuffed inside. These means that you can just reuse the outer shell a few times as long as it doesn't get soiled. Check out this purple one on Ever to the left and below.

All of the cloth diapers I have purchased are one size so they are meant to be able to wear from birth into toddler hood. If I had it to do over again I probably would have bought more that were smaller for when she was a newborn they fit her better.

I'm excited to finally be able to start using them. There are so many cute designs like this one below. This was the first cloth diaper I purchased. It actually came in a set of two. The other diaper is a jean based design and both have rainbows on them for my rainbow baby!! I LOVE them!

One last deal I came across was this set of 5 "Happy Flute" brand minky diapers. They are missing hip snaps which I think I can fix but we will see when I get them. I was able to snag these plus 10 inserts for $52! Minky diapers are soft and furry and the colors look great! BTW the rainbow diaper above is also a minky diaper. I purchased these diapers from Sew is Your Baby. She has lots of really cute designs. Go check out her store if you have a minute. She also sells baby legs and diaper pants that cover the cloth diapers.

Watch out for more pictures of Ever rocking her new cloth diapers!!
